As we head into the final stretch of this school year, I am glad I can share some exciting new opportunities for our students. The first opportunity is to be able to make up inclement weather days by using eLearning. This concept is not new to me; I have had the opportunity to utilize eLearning days as makeup days for the past 3 years in my previous District. After educating teachers, students and parents on the procedures and overcoming the initial growing pains that come from learning outside the classroom, East Washington community will join the list of Indiana schools that are encouraging learning to happen anytime and anywhere. This is just one small step we must take to prepare our students for their futures. Katie Hutchinson, EWSC Director of Technology and Integration, will be providing resources to help both students and staff prepare for these 2 days. One important point to keep in mind: we do not expect you as the parent to teach your child on those days, but simply encourage your child to communicate with their respective teacher when a problem occurs.
